LMSS Ski Trip to Mount Hutt
A fun but tiring (and leg aching!) trip to Mt Hutt with LMSS mates. When our car started to climb up the hills and snow capped mountain awed my vision, I had this song spinning in my head:

Aku rasa aku dah terjangkit satu penyakit flatmate aku, penyakit tu nama dia "sindrom syok sendiri".. ni bukan kes-kes perasan lawa ke haper, ini kes masak sendiri, makan sendiri and perasan benda yang aku masak tu sedap  nak buat camner, aku sebenar-benarnye bukan reti masak, kat Msia aku mmg tak pernah masak, my mom can tell you that! tapi dah duk kat NZ ni, no choice, and I think I am very impressed with my own cooking... hahaha.. Boleh aku nak perasan gitu?
Aku memang jatuh cinta ngan salmon. Kat Msia pun aku mmg dah suka salmon.. I can even eat it raw at sushi outlets. I love bagels with smoked salmon.. and now I tried making my own salmon steak. Sedaps sampai menjilat garpu beb.. sedap sampai pejam mata! ... kepada flatmateku yg tak makan salmon tu, you don't know what you're missing! Tapi aku tak leh nak buat selalu la.. That single slice raw piece of salmon costs me $5... tak mampu akak.
Winter Warmer Fish Porridge, garnished with pickled radish, sesame oil, soy sauce with lime juice & sliced onions.
Aku terbaca kat satu blog, dia buat fish porridge, dia bagi nama 'winter warmers fish porridge'... nama dia pun dah buat aku tertarik so dalam kesejukan winter ni aku pun try jugak la buat fish porridge tu guna monkfish fillet, seperiuk besar aku buat. Aku makan sampai 6 mangkuk.. kalau dah makan sampai tak ingat dunia camtu, I don't need to describe kesedapan dia la kan. Nasib baik ade gak jiran2 aku nak tolong makankan jugak, kalau tak, maunye satu periuk tu aku langsaikan sorang.
With my 'eating rate' nowadays, I know I should not complaint when my jeans are getting tighter *sigh*.

Aku tak pernah ajak kengkawan postgrad aku datang rumah before this.... dah lama nak ajak, tapi tak terbuat. Besides before this aku duk ngan omputeh, susah sket la.. landlady aku tu cerewet tahap gaban, so aku memang tak penah ajak sesape datang. Since tahun ni flatmates aku semua Malays, senang ler aku nak kenduri kendara.
Thank you soooo much to all friends who helped with the preparation. Tanpa korang tolong.. tak daya la aku nak masak sorang2.
Apologies to my guests atas sebarang kekurangan.. especially the lack of space! Thank you for coming.

the fuchsia story

Fuchsia, a beautiful ornamental plant with tender 'earring' flowers. Fuchsia flowers come in various colors, from white, pink, red, violet to several color combinations...
and... happen to be bunga ni la paling aku suka kutip kat tepi jalan on campus. Pastu kan.. flatmates aku yang sorang tu punya la suka bersungut tak der orang nak bagi bunga kat dia. So aku ade la satu habit ni, kutip fucshia and gantung kat doorknobs bilik diorang. Aku dah buat a few times la jugak. From there you can see how they appreciate (and ketakappreciatan mereka.. ok, perkataan tu aku reka) what you gave them. Yang sorang tu dia simpan bunga ni sampai kering on her dressing table. At least bunga tu still duk tempat ada taraf in her room. Yang sorang lagi, everytime dia dapat bunga tu dia kata "eiii... sapa minat I ni.. bagi bunga".. and with that dia baling bunga tu dalam mangkuk air (we have a bowl of water on our coffee table to moist up the room, we have our heat pump on almost round the clock). Duduk la bunga tu dlm air smpai reput berkulat. Yang lagi sorang.. yang paling suka bersungut tak dapat bunga tu kan, dia campak aje fuschia tu dalam dustbin, saying "saya nak bunga tapi bukan bunga ni... bukan dari k.G".
There you go.
Hmm.. agak-agak patut ker aku bagi bunga kat diorang on Graduation day?

A friend asked me nape lately tak letak my photos & or my friends photos in my fotopages.. then dia sendiri jawab, "I know.. pasal you dah gemuk kan..". Weyyyy.. I don't care gambar gemuk ke tidak laaa, anyway my face hardly masuk gambar.. gambar korang je yg ade dlm memo card tu! kalau letak gambar 'gumux' korang, korang jugak yang marah, kan kan?
After trying smoked salmon bagel at Coffee Culture for the first time a month ago, asyik nakkk aje. So I frequent CC not for coffee, but for the bagel. Tapi lama-lama kopak la akak kalau every week nak perabis duit kat situ. Hence I decided to make my own.. beli bagel & smoked salmon kat Pak'n'Save and put them together. It was not a cheaper way actually, coz the smoked salmon slices weren't cheap! 6 super small & super thin slices cost a little less than $5.
The one at CC was served with cream cheese, I didn't have that at home. I had mine with scrambled eggs, mayo & gherkins. Sedap jugak beb!
Kiwi Konyaku jelly.. takder bekas comel-comel.. so just made it in ice cube tray. Jadik la kan...

Di suatu senja semusim yang lalu..... eh bukan, musim sekarang ler.
I know the photo is not a good one.. but the point why I have this post is aku tak pernah reti nak letak gambar tu jadi besar!!! and you know, being a bodoh sombong kan.. tak reti pulak nak tanya orang lain buat camne.. hehehe...
at last... I did it!! (ok laaaa.. sila gelak... I know zilch about this fotopages thingy)
