asam pedas warehou*

dah makan nasi separuh pinggan baru teringat nak ambik gambar

Maka, terhasillah asam pedas cubaan pertama saya.

Hihihi .... gegar perut boyot aku nih..... apapun syabas kawanku... bila ko nak balik mesia? Wed 9-Apr-2008 06:15

The world outside my window: buzzy bees

View all 6 photos...

I love summer but I loathe the insects that come with it. Flies are everywhere, on the couch, on kitchen bench, even in bedroom! Nasty chiggers left their larvae in some place that I could not detect, they're too small to be seen with naked eyes but I know they exist somewhere around me because they fed on my skin (sounds scary aje kan!) and kept me scratching for days. Seriously gatal!. I now have ugly polka dot scars as mementos. Euw!.

Spiders keep spinning their web on my car side mirrors and make it look as if it is a haunted car that has been left untouched for years.

The only insects not on my hate list are the bees, as long as they stay OUT of the house.

heeheheheh cute pulak tgk bees ni Fri 8-Feb-2008 11:19

Titisan selepas hujan

Saya tak pandai nak tulis sajak. Sejak zaman sekolah sampailah ke tua, memang tak reti nak berpuisi bagai. I can't write a poem to go with it. Jadi cuma boleh copy paste aje lah poem kat bawah ni. Credit to the writer, I simply found it on the internet. I have no plan to 'huds0nize' the poem, if you know what that means

Droplets
by Stargazer

Her eyes glinted as sunlight played upon blades of grass.
Dew drops' faces reflected rainbows.
Expressions; like points of crystals
Reaching from deep within.

Her hair moved gently as breeze led the dance.
Dew drops let go of their delicate hold.
Like a tear's joyful journey washing away
Flowing from deep within.

She smiled as rainbows touched her heart.
Droplets let go of their delicate hold.
Like dew drops with faces;
Reflecting from deep within.

She blinked as if waking from a dream.
Ink flowed from her pen
Like a journey of beginnings in the palm of her hand.
Stories from deep within.

If you really see around you, there is beauty in everything.

*photos taken from inside my room, almost fell out of my window, was too lazy to get out.

Nice shots!

Unpretty yummy

Ini bukan permukaan planet Marikh. Ini dessert terkini yg gue cuba try test buat - Peach Pie. Dapat resepi from Lin. Easy peasy to make. Tapi Lin punye pie nampak cantik tulus mulus penuh kesopanan. Pie gue buat, ntah ape-ape ropenye. Tak cun langsung. Tapi dijamin sedapsss!

Alasan gue, my flatmates are better bakers, so let them do what they're good at. Kalau semua orang baking, sape yang nak tolong makan, kan kan?

One for the new year

I have this fascination with koru. Anything with koru shape or patterns would catch my attention. I lost my koru shaped greenstone pendant many moons ago. I wonder why I keep losing things that I treasure.

This photo (taken with my old camera, which is now broken ) has been my pc wallpaper since early November. Just thought that I'd better put it up here since my fotopage has been gathering dust.

Koru is the Māori name given to the new unfurling fern frond and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.

Growing Up In Terengganu

Let me introduce this gem that those of you in Malaysia can find in your leading bookstores now.

“Awang Goneng does with words what Lat did with pictures.”
–Dr. Annabel Teh Gallop, Head of the South and Southeast Asia section, British Library, London.

Growing Up In Terengganu is a blook about... like the title says, growing up in Terengganu! Just incase you don't know what's a blook, it is a book that contains or is based on content from a blog. I read the writer's blog, kecek-kecek ( http://kecek-kecek.blogspot.com and the archive http://growing-up-in-trengganu.blogspot.com ) for the first time when I came to New Zealand, and I was hooked! Reading his Terengganu stories made me feel closer to home. The writer, Awang Goneng is a Terengganu born journalist based in London. You're gonna love the way he narrates his growing up years in Terengganu (he is incredible with his words!). I grew up in Terengganu at least two decades after him, yet I can relate to his stories and learn so much more than what I knew of Terengganu.

Here's the book description from MPH online:
Quote:
Growing Up in Trengganu started life as the much-celebrated blog of Awang Goneng (the pseudonym of Malaysia’s most-respected journalist in London, Wan Hulaimi) until it was found to be too good to exist only in cyberspace. Through a collection of memories retold in glorious colour, he evokes the pleasures of a kampung childhood for the benefit of new generations brought up in air-conditioned condominiums. Listen to the azan call to prayer from the surau of Haji Mat Kerinci, order satay with toast for breakfast, meet notables such as Tun Long the laundry man and Cik Wook Payong Löcöh, whose umbrella turned inside-out in a storm, and relive the pleasure of hearing the rain hammer down on a corrugated iron roof while reading the Beano and eating kueh putu.

Sultans, sweetmeat sellers and shopkeepers all act as springboards as you meander through Trengganu history, and by the end of this book you will have painlessly mastered the ‘Trengganuspeak’ that foils even fellow Malaysians.

in the words of Awang Goneng's lovely wife, KakTeh;

Quote:
And London did something to him and to me. He yearned and talked about his Trengganu a lot. It takes being away for so long for someone to remember clearly how things were in those days.

For me, the words he paints of Trengganu make me want to go back and see it again, the stories that he tells of his Cik (mother) make me wish I had known her and had tasted the delicious food she used to prepare for him when he was small. She could have taught me a thing or two. I had seen her photographs, but I never knew her. It makes me wonder whether she would be proud to have me as a daughter in law. I guess I would never know.

So to those from Terengganu, you're gonna love this book! to those planning to marry /already married to a terengganu-folk, you can learn some Ganu-speak & Ganu-culture. To others, there's so much that you can learn about Terengganu from this book. Go get it! (My copy has landed on NZ land, in Dunedin, I can't wait to get it!).
